Richard Tremblay passes the torch to new owners

Two key members of the team are taking over Conception R. P. Inc.

Quebec City, Quebec. April 20, 2026. — Automated wood processing equipment manufacturer Conception R. P. announces the transfer of its company to two of its current directors: Jean-Félix Trudel, CEO, and Guillaume Boucher, Director of Engineering. The two buyers, who both have significant experience with the company, are determined to uphold the vision that enabled Conception R. P. to break into the international market in the first place.

Two forward-thinking engineers

Jean-Félix Trudel has a degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). His management experience and in-depth understanding of industrial issues are reflected in his structured, results-focused approach. Since joining the company last June, he has been working hard to solidify ties with partners and clients, travelling to meet people all over the world.

« Every visit to a client, whether it be in Quebec, America or Europe, reminds us of the importance of human contact. That's something that we want to integrate even more into how we work going forward,» said Mr. Trudel.

His co-buyer, Guillaume Boucher, also has a degree in mechanical engineering and has been part of Conception R. P. for 14 years now. His invaluable technical expertise and knowledge of the field have helped ensure that the systems delivered to clients meet the highest of standards in terms of efficiency and reliability. Mr. Boucher is determined to pursue the development of cutting-edge technological designs and provide the engineering team the chance to demonstrate their expertise. His goal is to showcase the expertise and capacity for innovation that directly contribute to Conception R. P.’s prominent role in the wood industry.

The transfer of the company is an important step for Richard Tremblay, who co-founded Conception R. P. in 1990 with Réal Perreault and Roberto Guillemette.

The entrepreneurs worked together to design the CRP-2000 finger jointing system in the initial years of Conception R. P., and the technology behind it has been evolving ever since. Hundreds of factories around the world have integrated the CRP-2000 into their production lines, with some still operating it after 30 plus years — a testament to the ingenious design. Today, it's recognized as the fastest on the market.

The Conception R. P. team, which is driven by a constant search for innovation, has continued to develop its range of products over the years. Today, it has an extensive catalogue of complete industrial solutions offering a high degree of personalization and automation. These solutions help boost productivity for clients in the wood processing industry.

The company wants to acknowledge Mr. Tremblay’s commitment and hard work over the last 35 years. For the next few months, he will remain present in the company, acting as an expert advisor to ensure a smooth transition.

Mr. Trudel and Mr. Boucher, the new President/CEO and Vice President of Engineering, respectively, intend to pursue Conception R. P.’s mission by building lasting partnerships that extend well beyond the simple production of mechanical equipment.
